Something I realized

(Spoilers ahead)

So I was thinking about the Forsaken campaign the other day, and I had a revelation.

People have already talked about how technically our revenge did nothing. The Barons didn’t stay dead for long, Uldren accomplished his goal and would’ve died either way, and Mara would’ve still told us to kill Riven. Besides building a relationship between The Spider and Guardians, it seemed that our revenge accomplished nothing.

But then Black Armory released, and Uldren was resurrected as a Guardian, because of our actions.

To explain why, I’m going to back up a little.

In the lore book Ghost Stories, in the entry Into The Fray, it is said that for a Guardian to be resurrected for the first time, there must be a physical body. After the first time you can be burnt to a pile of ash and come back easily, but when your Ghost first finds you there must be something left of you.

The exact wording is as follows:

So what does this mean for Uldren? Well it’s simple.

Whether we went against Vanguard orders and decided to take revenge, Uldren was going to be eaten by The Voice of Riven regardless, but because we took revenge, we were able to kill the chimera before we killed him ourselves.

Because we did this, his physical body remained intact. And because his physical body remained intact, he was able to be turned into a Guardian.

So unknown to us, our desire to kill Uldren was what caused him to be reborn and potentially redeemed.

odyssey statement from ubisoft

thebreadthatcausedlesmis:

So found this statement from the creative director Jonathan Dumont:

“Reading through player responses of our new DLC for Legacy of the First Blade, Shadow Heritage, we want to extend an apology to players disappointed by a relationship your character partakes in. The intention of this story was to explain how your character’s bloodline has a lasting impact on the Assassins, but looking through your responses it is clear that we missed the mark.

Alexios/Kassandra realizing their own mortality and the sacrifice Leonidas and Myrrine made before them to keep their legacy alive, felt the desire and duty to preserve their important lineage. Our goal was to let players choose between a utilitarian view of ensuring your bloodline lived on or forming a romantic relationship. We attempted to distinguish between the two but could have done this more carefully as we were walking a narrow line between role-play choices and story, and the clarity and motivation for this decision was poorly executed. As you continue the adventure in next episode Bloodline, please know that you will not have to engage in a lasting romantic relationship if you do not desire to.

We have read your responses online and taken them to heart. This has been a learning experience for us. Understanding how attached you feel to your Kassandra and your Alexios is humbling and knowing we let you down is not something we take lightly. We’ll work to do better and make sure the element of player choice in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey carries through our DLC content so you can stay true to the character you have embodied throughout.“

my mom is going to kill one of my cats in 2 days if i don’t find a new home for him

image

This is Sam. He’s a 13 year old black, fluffy, grumpy cat.

the problem is, Sam has an improper elimination issue. which means, he goes potty outside of the litter box. however, he now largely goes potty on puppy training pads, though he still has accidents here and there.

my mom has decided that, because of this, she has to have him put down instead of working toward alternative solutions. so i’m trying to find him a new home before this happens.

he is diabetic and arthritic due to his old age, so he has some medical concerns, he doesn’t like being pet on his back and he can’t jump very high, but these concerns are manageable. he is also neutered.

he loves snuggling and scratches behind his ears. he also likes being held and his favorite toys are cat teasers. he mostly likes calm, older women, and a quiet home with children and no dogs and other calm cats would be ideal for him. i can see him being a perfect lap cat for a gentle old woman.

if anyone in the austin, texas area wants to save a sweet old kitty, please message me ASAP. i don’t want any money for him, I will give you all of his food and needles and insulin and puppy pads, I love him and I just want to find a good home for him and i don’t want him to die before he’s ready.
